Doug Boersma is currently the Head of Commercial and Industrial Banking for Wintrust Financial Corporation. Most of his professional career has been spent focusing on the banking needs of privately held, middle-market businesses. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Wintrust Bank, N.A., a Wintrust Financial Corporation charter. Boersma also served as Market Head for the Central Region, which includes Hinsdale Bank & Trust Company, N.A., Northbrook Bank & Trust Company, N.A., and Beverly Bank & Trust Company, N.A. Before that, he was the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Northbrook Bank & Trust Company, N.A., also a Wintrust Financial Corporation subsidiary. Prior to joining Wintrust Financial, Boersma was the Co-Head of the Illinois Middle Market Commercial Banking team at JPMorgan Chase Bank, where he spent the initial 20 years of his professional career. Additional responsibilities at Wintrust Financial include leading the Sponsor and Fund Finance, Asset Based Lending, Fund Finance, Foreign Multinational and Government, Non-Profit and Healthcare (GNPH) groups. Boersma was part of the team that developed the Money Service Business, Funds Group, and Foreign Multinational platforms at Wintrust.
Doug earned his B.S. in Business Administration, majoring in Finance, from Miami University (Ohio) and has an MBA from the University of Illinois – Chicago. Boersma serves on the Board of Trustees for the Museum of Science and Industry, the largest science museum in the Western Hemisphere. He is also on the Miami University Farmer School Business Advisory Council. This is the Business School Dean’s main advisory board for the school, which provides guidance and advice to the Dean and the FSB Executive.
